According to a 2019 Scientific Review* - the supply chains in Africa and Asia are where you'll find the highest levels of toxins & moulds found in crops and coffee. These toxins include Aflatoxin B1 and Ochratoxin A, which are known to be harmful to humans and yet are still found in up to 95% of coffees.

Our organic coffee is stored in a sterile environment and is lab tested by a SANAS-accredited food safety laboratory to ensure there are no mycotoxins present.

About Us

  • With a background in Food Science, Nutrition and Sport Science, and an unquenchable thirst for coffee and innovation, the Healthy Coffee Guy began researching and experimenting with coffee in late 2017. After discovering the prevalence of mycotoxins in African supply chains, and the absence of their regulation, he set out to offer the only local solution for customers.

     

    While on this journey, medicinal mushroom and nootropic studies were indicating overwhelmingly positive results, and CBD was legalised in South Africa. After analysing over 2000 scientific studies and testing dozens of potential ingredients and flavour profiles, our enhanced coffee range was released to combine the known benefits of coffee with these supplements.
