We source our beans from small farms in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. We have been to these farms with our importer and do not work with cooperatives, who tend to squeeze farmer profit margins which forces them into unethical/unsustainable farming practices.

We source our beans from premium suppliers who discard any undesirable crop and who use wet processing to eliminate mold and toxins - and then the roasting process ensures our coffee further free from them. The negative effect of mycotoxins has been proven to be vastly over exaggerated by some coffee companies as even having 4 cups of average coffee per day only contains around 2% of the daily recommended maximum of the concerning ochratoxin A mycotoxin.

When the coffee arrives in South Africa we do an initial screening for moulds. The beans are then stored in a proprietary manner that severely restricts mould's ability to grow - this is done through a combination of temperature, humidity and light regulation. Before roasting, we send a blended batch of ground beans to a SANAS-accredited food safety lab for accurate 3rd-party testing. The roasted coffee is sent to our GMP-certified co-packer who ensures it's packed, sealed and labelled in a sterile, negative pressure environment.

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the most effective supplemental/'medicinal' extracts that can be extracted from Hemp/Cannabis - it is commonly used to ease pain, inflammation, anxiety and various other concerns, or as a preventative measure against them. Our products are not certified organic but are grown using organic practices without the use of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides or fungicides and are rainforest alliance certified. Organic certification is such an expensive yearly certification that it forces farmers to join cooperatives, who then squeeze the farmer profit margins and make that profit themselves. So, for the most part, we don't recommend buying certified organic coffee.

We recommend not going over 500mg of caffeine per day and therefore do not recommend more than 5 servings of the Focus, Mushroom or CBD blends per day.
